Lens Options
Transitions technology: lenses that adapt to your ever-changing environment.
Progressive lenses (No-line bifocals)
So, it's time you make the plunge into bifocals. Don't worry, progressive lenses provide you with the freedom of having "no line" on your lenses. They allow you to see clearly at distance, intermediate, and near. No one will ever know you're wearing bifocals! We highly recommend the "VARiLUX" progressive lens for our patients.
Transition lenses (lenses that change outdoors)
Transitions lenses are those that are crystal clear indoors but darken outdoors due to UV light exposure from the sun. They include a built-in scratch resistance and 100% UV protection. These lenses offer both comfort and convenience for many of our patients. Transitions are a great way to protect your child's eyes from the sun's harmful UV rays. Polarized lenses (sunglasses)
Polarized lenses filter light reflected from horizontal surfaces, which make your eyes more comfortable for water activities and sports. These are the best lenses for driving because they eliminate "disabling glare."
Anti-reflective coatings (lenses that reduce glare)
Anti-reflective coatings have been shown to provide clearer vision by reducing glare caused by fluorescent lighting, computer screens, and car headlights at night. This coating also eliminates glare from the front of your lenses making them seem almost invisible to others. For these reasons, we highly recommend anti-reflective coatings to our patients. Click on the "Launch Demonstrations" tab at the following link to see why this technology provides the clearest vision possible: crizal.com/Professional/Crizal+Theater/
High-index materials (thinner, lighter lenses)
Tired of thick, heavy lenses due to your high prescription? A high index material is your solution. They make lenses significantly thinner and lighter resulting in a more comfortable pair of glasses. See for yourself- ask to see our in-office demo for high-index materials.
Aspheric lenses (thinner, flatter lenses)
Aspheric lenses are thinner and lighter than a regular plastic lens. They also reduce magnification or minification of your eyes caused by high prescriptions.
Safety and sports eyewear
Prescription safety and sports eyewear are designed to protect your eyes while fulfilling your visual needs. They are available in a variety of sizes and styles for both children and adults. They're great for kids involved in sports who aren't quite ready for contact lenses. Feel free to visit any of our office dispensaries for your safety and sports eyewear!
